Michelle Obama has released her memoirs as being former First Lady in a new book called ‘Becoming’. The book includes some explosive revelations about Michelle’s relationship with husband Barack Obama, and her reaction to Donald Trump becoming president.
In the book, Michelle tells of the Obama’s receiving marriage counselling during the early periods of Barack’s demanding political career, as well as having a miscarriage 20 years ago and receiving IVF treatment to conceive her eldest daughter Malia. Just incredible…
Michelle also explains how she reacted to Donald Trump winning the presidential election campaign against Hillary Clinton back in 2016, saying she tried to ‘block it all out’, whilst also revealing that her body ‘buzzed with fury’ after watching the Access Hollywood tape recording of Donald Trump boasting about ‘grabbing them by the pussy’. We wonder why?
In ‘Becoming’, Michelle also goes into detail about her marriage ‘hitting the rocks’ when Barack joined the Illinois state legislature. She’s quoted as saying they met a ‘handful of counsellors a couple of times’. She goes on to describe how ‘too many young couples struggle and think there’s something wrong with them. I want them to know that Michelle and Barack Obama, who have a phenomenal marriage, get help when we need it.’
Michelle also describes the events after her miscarriage, saying she felt like she failed because she ‘didn’t know how common miscarriages were’. She says ‘we sit in our own pain that somehow we’re broken’ and ‘it’s important to talk to young mothers about the fact that miscarriages happen.’
The new book coincides with rumours that Michelle Obama is thinking of taking on the moniker, supposedly set for Hillary Clinton, to become America’s first female president. A recent poll by Axios found that if Michelle Obama ran against Trump, she’d have a thirteen point advantage over the current occupier of the White House, while Oprah Winfrey, who is gaining a growing backing to make her own leadership bid, would have a 12 point lead. But, as we know with these polls, they are often times completely inaccurate, and always back the left.
However, ‘Becoming’ may give an interesting insight into what it was like to be the partner of the former president in the administration that guided America into some of the most turbulent times in recent history, such as enabling the rise of ISIS, the recovery from the banking crisis of 2008, the rise of Daesh, and the choice not to oust dictator Bashar Al Assad after a war weary country refused to fund another invasion in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Obama administration subsequently decided to bomb seven Middle Eastern nations with drones, sparking the migrant influx into Europe.
Whether Michelle Obama decides to run for president or not, ‘Becoming’ gives unprecedented insight into Barack Obama’s administration. An administration that, in hindsight, attempted to achieve so much, with ambitions that included introducing America’s first national health service (the ill-fated ‘Obamacare’ with sky rocketing premiums) and the promises of ‘Change’ in 2008, and yet achieved so very little, aside from transgender awareness, same sex bathrooms, and also striking a very questionable deal with Iran.
But, this memoir is from the mind of Michelle Obama and her views, and this is one half of the $65 million book deal secured by the Obamas with the Crown Publishing Group, earning them an unprecedented amount of money, in fact, it’s the most ever received for a presidential memoir in the history of the whole wide world.
Both the Obama’s upcoming memoirs will go some way to try to taint the shade of whatever colour Obama’s administration has been painted in the tapestry of American politics. For now, we’ll read it and see, but we suspect that only ultra minded liberals will buy it.
