Kim Kardashian Under Fire For “Culturally Appropriating” New Hairstyle

The Kardashians are back at it again. What are they hogging the front pages with this time?

This time, it’s over Kim Kardashian’s new hairstyle. Kim took to snapchat to show off her “Bo Derek” (from the 1979 film “10”) braids. She told her followers she was “really into” it, but some of her followers are not quite feeling her new look.

A lot of fans aren’t happy with her new hairstyle, as they have accused her of “culturally appropriating” it.

“Kim Kardashian on snap talking about some Bo Derek braids. Kim they are called CORN ROWS..” one fan complained.

“Kim Kardashian got on Fulani braids and called them “Bo Derek” braids . These why culture appropriation trash.” another added.

“Just when I start to like Kim Kardashian she pulls her tone def cultural appropriation s***. As a grown woman, who is fully immersed and profits from black culture there’s no excuse for calling cornrows ‘Bo Derick’ braids . Wear what you want, but give credit where it’s due,” a third commented.

And that’s only half of it, as more tweeted their criticism toward her, one even suggesting she “shouldn’t be wearing them as a white woman”. Seems a little far-fetched, but it’s been argued that white people shouldn’t be allowed to sport any kind of fashion outside their own race.

Welcome to 2018, yet another year of the sensitive Buzzfeed generation or you could even call them the racially indoctrinated social justice warrior millennials of generation Z.

However, some fans stood up for Kim Kardashian and fully supported her new look, defying the moronically brainwashed people attacking her on social media, like this one!

But, here we have a supporter of freedom of expression, something which generation Z just cannot get their head around…

A similar situation occurred back in November, when the reality star was accused of being “racially insensitive” by fans. Kim spoke out after being criticised for the Aaliyah Halloween costume that she wore.

Aaliyah was an R&B singer, as well as an actress and model who tragically passed away after a plane crash in August 2001. Kim’s Halloween look was from her music video “Try Again”. Fans accused Kim of “pushing the limit” of acceptable behaviour after replicating Aaliyah’s outfit from the video.

However, Kim insisted that her outfit came from a place of “love and respect”, and that Aaliyah was a woman she admired.

Kim has not yet commented on the recent backlash, but what does everyone else think? Do you think it was disrespectful for her to get these braids, or have fans just got their panties (or braids, in this case) in a twist? Let us know in the comments section below.
