To continue this fun-filled Friday packed full of blockbuster games, (certainly seems like the trend of the day), we decided to cover another much-anticipated game, this time being the latest release from the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ franchise with their latest game, Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
This time, you begin your journey as Bayek of Siwa, during a time when the ancient civilisation of Egypt was thriving, which a hugely epic immersive gaming experience, with monuments including the Pyramids and the Sphinx all fully explorable in game. This is definitely something for all you Ancient Aliens enthusiasts, because you’re probably going to get to see some of those at some point in this game too, probably. The game looks spectacular, and is surely to be the best game in the decade long franchise to date. Let’s take a look at the official trailer, first revealed at the E3 gaming conference earlier this year.
The game is said to be a more of a typical open-world RPG experience, which is good news for some. It means you will have more of a free roaming experience as opposed to previous Assassin’s Creed games, leaving you time and space to explore Ancient Egypt at your leisure. However, the action sequences promises more of a 3rd person view as opposed to just sneaking about on your enemies stealthily, as is the staple of games gone passed in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Games Radar+’s Louise Blain gave the game a 5/5 rating, with her emphasis of the reason being that it brings much of the storyline of older games full circle with the story of Bayek and his wife, during the Origins story line.
Alessandro Fillari at Gamespot also had a positive view of the game, praising the educational journey of the game throughout Ancient Egypt, citing the reason as being: “impressively dense in the more populated cities and towns, convincingly realized through a clear attention to detail.”
However, Fillari claims there were framerate dips and texture pop-in technical issues within the game, but with any luck, this has now been patched by Ubisoft in Montreal ahead of today’s launch on October 27th, 2017. Nonetheless, Fillari of Gamespot gave the game a 7/10 rating.
To give you a helping hand on deciding whether or not this game is worth picking up, here’s a little bit of walkthrough gameplay of the opening 45 minutes, just in case you get stuck in the beginning. All we can say is that this game looks a real visual treat.
The game is available now on all major gaming consoles and systems (apart from Nintendo), including PS4, Xbox One and PC. If you haven’t picked up a copy yourself yet, just click one of links to your preferred system, and to order them from Amazon, direct to your door.
In order to completely fill your weekend with lots of gaming fun, this has to be on your gaming to-do list as well. Make sure that you buy this game as soon as possible while stocks last, because we suspect this game is going to sell out fast! Early reviews suggest that you will not be disappointed, especially if you’re a long time Assassin’s Creed fan. Have a great weekend!
Brainstain, over and out!
