We can all agree that body-shamers are the worst kind of people. Not a size 4? You’re fat. For those who are that size are instantly labelled as “too skinny”. It also goes for those who do a lot to maintain their appearance, or those who do little to maintain theirs. It just shows that the ugly face of society is never really happy either way.
Unfortunately, as expected, celebrities are always getting slammed for body image and appearance. It’s nothing new, and it’s been going on for decades, sadly. Body-shamers have it in their twisted minds that celebrities must always look “picture perfect”, even if they’re just walking the dog or taking out the trash. Apparently, you’ve got to look like you’re on the red carpet even when you’re just picking up dog poop.
For Paris Jackson, she recently became the victim of trolling after she was pictured with underarm hair at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Wow, what a travesty.
The 19-year-old was also slammed for posting a photo on her Instagram of herself with hairy legs.
She wrote: “If you’re not competing with your brother over who can grow longer leg hair wyed.” This lead to vile comments towards Paris, calling her “skanky”, “pathetic” and asking why she wouldn’t shave.
However, Paris didn’t let those comments get her down, and tweeted a meme from Game of Thrones in response to the trolls.
Paris posted an Instagram story after being criticised over her underarm hair back in March, showing the results of two months’ worth of growth.
“I didn’t realise that people were going to get so upset over my armpit hair,” she said.
“I didn’t realise that was such an issue. It is so funny. People are really mad. I wish I could post some of the responses.
“You can just tell how angry and infuriated these people are.”
“I love hair, and sweat, and BO. I [really] love it. I think it’s great.”
“Some people think that it’s like super disgusting, especially on girls, but every human body does it. It’s natural. Get over it.” You go, girl!
It just proves how ridiculously sensitive people are to things nowadays. Unless Paris’ underarm hairs are causing some kind of harmful polluted odour, there’s nothing wrong with what she’s doing. Before posting a rude comment because she isn’t clean-shaven and shiny like most female celebrities, take a step back and think for a second. Is her body really anyone’s business, does it interfere with your life in any way? No? Then keep your petty, childish comments to yourself and let her do what she likes. There isn’t a rule book on how women should look, so leave it be and let them enjoy themselves.
Note: Now, if anybody wondered what Paris Jackson’s actual celebrity talents really are, then obviously showing off her body hair is most definitely one of them. We suspect that there’s more to come in the near future from Miss Jackson.
