Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. better known as Foxconn, a Taiwanese multinational electronic contract manufacturing company based in New Tapei, has had intriguing photos allegedly leaked by a disgruntled or clumsy employee, presumed to be within relation to the top secret new iPhone 8’s production.
The photos indicate the future inclusion of wireless charging with enough space for insertion of an L-shaped battery, in iPhone 8’s early stage of manufacturing. The employee took photos revealing the inner workings of the phone and it has since gone out into the “internet-sphere” and has created much anticipation and hype about what it could all mean.
Weibo, the Chinese bootleg equivalent of Facebook, revealed photos of an iPhone in the EVT (engineering validation test) stage, which shows a wireless charging coil, sparking the rumours that iPhone 8 will come with this breakthrough in battery regeneration packed inside the phone.
The leak also revealed a from-facing camera, sensors, and stacked logic board design, which was presumed to be a new feature suggested by several top Apple publications, and one of the most respected Apple Analysts in the world, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities.
The empty space in the photo suggests the possibility of the use of an L shaped battery, plus with the charging coil and improved logic board design, it may very well spell the end for issues and complaints from consumers about battery life. Even though the photos are presumed to be all about the iPhone 8, the photos were not in X-Ray form, but in black and white, so everything cannot be confirmed. However, the word “Ferrari” in the photo, which is the device’s internal production code name, (which was also leaked in a supply chain document last year), could all but confirm that this is indeed, the early technological blueprints for the iPhone 8.
The photos courtesy of Slashdot, are in fact of the iPhone 8. The hope is that they’re still old photos, because if they’re recent, that means they’re still in the EVT stage and not in the Design Validation Test or in the Production Validation Test stage, and if that’s the case, then it is very unlikely that the iPhone 8 will make it into stores by its intended September 2017 release date.
Let’s hope that it will make the release date, right guys? Who doesn’t want one of these “bad boys” as their trusty new sidekick? We here at Brainstain, will most definitely be saving up to get our hands on one of these “game changer” phones if it’s released next month, without hesitation. The only thing holding us back may be the price tag, which may or may not be a stumbling block for some consumers. The 128GB phone will cost $999 and the 256GB will cost $1,099, but such is the high-end phone market these days. Surely this should be seen as an investment for a piece of brilliant technology to serve you for years to come.
Some of the additional design rumours of the Phone 8 are said to include a dual lens 3D camera, curved glass casing (sexy!), augmented reality capabilities, and of course wireless charging. The 5 inch and 5.8 inch model will have a wrap around OLED screen, and the usual aluminium back will be replaced with two reinforced glass panes and metal frame in the middle, so you know that “baby’s got back!” too.
All of this sounds very sleek and sensual to us. The more we hear about it, the more we’re yearning for this new iPhone 8, but what’s more is that the recent leak also suggests that the iPhone 8 camera will also include facial recognition software. That might not sound like news, but lets think about it for a second. Your phone will be able to unlock from facial recognition as opposed to just a finger print. That’s pretty advanced stuff right there. All that said, we hope that they will still keep the trusty old pin code system as well.
Some even believe that the iPhone camera will be able to detect your mood simply by seeing your face, just in case you needed to verify that with Apple… So, if you don’t know how you’re feeling just check with your new partner in life, the iPhone 8.
Recently Foxconn VP Luo Zhongsheng posted to Weibo, (but quickly deleted afterwards), stating that Apple has run into some problems with the defect rate on their OLED screens, suggesting a 40% fail rate, which doesn’t bode well for the September release date seemingly. Hopefully Apple will have this all sorted this month so that people can get their hands on the new device, despite the fact that the price on the phone could be as high as $1,000 to $1,200 for the 128GB and 256GB phone respectively.
What’s also up for debate is what colours the phone will be available in. The usual white and black is expected, but there’s also rumours of rose gold, with some people like Benjamin Geskin, a leaker from Latvia, insists that the phone will come in four to even six colours.
The public will surely be spoiled for choice! So, who is eager for an iPhone 8? We most definitely are, and hopefully we will get our hands on one this fall.
Brainstain, over and out!
