New Details Released For Fantastic Beasts Sequel

Last year, the Harry Potter spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was released. The film was both a critical and financial success, and an excellent instalment to the franchise.

Given how brilliant the first film was, it’s no surprise fans are waiting eagerly for a sequel. While that has been confirmed, Warner Bros has revealed some more details about the upcoming film.

If you loved the characters from the first film, then fear not. Eddie Redmayne will be returning to his role as Newt Scamander, along with Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Golstein and Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalksi. Johnny Depp will also be returning as the powerful dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald.

Jude Law will be taking on the role of a young Albus Dumbledore, many years before he becomes headmaster at Hogwarts. With Dumbledore being one of the most beloved characters from the books and films, we’re counting on Jude Law to put on a good performance. No pressure or anything, Jude.

Along with that, there will also be a new character introduced – Theseus Scamander, a war hero and Newt’s older brother, to be played by Callum Turner.

Warner Bros said in a statement: “JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald.

The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.”

The production is currently being filmed at Warner Bros Studio Leavesden, Hetfordshire, the same location where the Harry Potter movies were filmed. It is scheduled for release in November 2018.

Sadly, we’ve got a very long wait until then, but after all, great things take time to materialise.
